The Georgian authorities “in the new geopolitical situation” should use every opportunity to strengthen security and move towards integration into the NATO military-political bloc, President of the Republic Salome Zurabishvili said on April 30 during a speech at an event dedicated to the Day of the country’s armed forces in Vaziani.

“We should spare no effort to strengthen our path of integration into the Atlantic Alliance. It is to be hoped that the Vilnius summit will be a milestone in this regard,” Zurabishvili was quoted as saying. RIA News.

The President of Georgia stressed that the republic’s partners should “not hesitate”, but make a “firm decision”. The Kremlin has repeatedly noted that the expansion of the Alliance towards the Russian borders is unacceptable. Moscow is forced to take retaliatory measures.

The Ukrainian authorities are also counting on joining NATO. However, in the USA they look at this the situation is negative.
