President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held a meeting in Moscow with Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin. This became known on Sunday, May 7.

During the conversation, Zhaparov pointed out that Kyrgyzstan traditionally attaches particular importance to strengthening and building up trade and economic relations with Russia. This was reported by the press service of the Kyrgyz leader.

At the end of 2022, the foreign trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan with Russia exceeded $3 billion. This is a record figure, Zhaparov stressed.

“Given the existing opportunities and intentions, it is quite realistic to bring the trade turnover and investment cooperation to higher levels,” the Kyrgyz president said. His words leads TASS.

Zhaparov flew to Moscow on May 7 to to negotiate with a Russian colleague, as well as visit the Victory Parade. On the agenda of the talks is a wide range of issues related to the situation in the world, as well as the topic of mutually beneficial cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

In the fall of 2022, Zhaparov stated that Russia has traditionally been leading trade and economic partner and the main strategic ally of Kyrgyzstan. The President noted the growth rate of trade between the two countries and the successful implementation of investment projects.
