Two natural fires were extinguished in the Sverdlovsk region, the press service of the regional head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said. Currently, 67 natural fires remain in the region, of which 20 were localized, writes on May 8 RIA News.
“Today, two natural fires were extinguished: in the village of Iset, Verkhnyaya Pyshma urban district, and the village of Nagibina, Pyshminsky urban district. There is no threat to settlements and economic facilities,” the statement said.
It is also known that 4,125 people and 658 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing all fires in the region, of which 691 people and 149 pieces of equipment are from the Russian Emergencies Ministry. Seven aircraft of the aviation forces of the Unified State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations participated in the fight against fire. Aircraft performed 114 water drops with a volume of over 480 tons.
Aviation was mainly involved in extinguishing fires in the villages of Slobodo-Turinsky municipal district, Bogdanovich, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Berezovsky, Asbest and Baikalovsky municipal district.
Earlier on May 8, it became known that the area of forest fires in the Sverdlovsk region had increased to 54.1 thousand hectares. The fight against fires in the Urals continues.
