The Russian promising medium-haul narrow-body aircraft Sukhoi Superjet New (SSJ New), a new version of the Sukhoi Superjet 100, will have practically no foreign components, Sergey Chemezov, director general of the Rostec state corporation, said on May 5. Chemezov told Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin about this at a meeting dedicated to the work of Rostec in 2022, writes TASS.
“The aircraft is already equipped with our engine, fully with our avionics, with our units and, most importantly, with our – completely – fuselage,” the CEO of the corporation explained.
According to open sources, the level of import substitution of SSJ New will reach 97%. Sukhoi Superjet 100 was developed by ZAO Sukhoi Civil Aircraft. The aircraft is equipped with a PowerJet SaM146 turbofan engine of Russian-French production (NPO Saturn and Safran – Profile).
It is expected that in 2024 Sukhoi Superjet New will be supplied with the Russian PD-8 engine, created in Perm. The domestic engine has not yet been certified. The program for the development of the aviation industry in Russia until 2030 implies the production of 314 PD-8s, of which 284 will be installed on the Superjet.
Sergey Chemezov has been heading Rostekhnologii since November 2007 (since July 2014 – Rostec). The corporation includes hundreds of companies, including Rosoboronexport.
