The amount of cash in circulation outside the Central Bank for the first time in the entire period of publication of these statements by the regulator exceeded 17 trillion rubles, the Bank of Russia reported. writes May 5 RIA Novosti.
At the beginning of May 2023, this figure reached the mark of 17.154 trillion rubles, having increased by almost 3% over the month. And since the beginning of 2023, the volume of cash in circulation has shown a positive trend of almost 5%. The increase in the indicator for the year was about 20%.
The most significant growth over the past year in monthly terms was recorded in September 2022: then the volume of “cash” increased by 6%, reaching 15.158 trillion rubles.
Earlier today, on May 5, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation reported that Russia’s international reserves increased by $1.8 billion and, as of April 28, 2023, amounted to $598.9 billion.
