The delegation of Ukraine from among the members of the Verkhovna Rada staged a provocation during the speech of Russian colleagues at the summit of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC), held on Thursday, May 4, in Ankara. This was stated by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on the development of civil society, issues of public and religious associations, acting. head of the Permanent Delegation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to the PABSEC Olga Timofeeva.
“What the Ukrainians did was like a circus. An attempt at a disruption at a meeting of speakers failed,” Timofeeva said. According to her, the speaker of the Turkish parliament, Mustafa Sentop, tried to intervene in what was happening and remove the participants in the provocation from the meeting room, transmits TASS.
Timofeeva stressed that the Russian delegation arrived at the PABSEC summit in a truncated composition to express their point of view, but the Ukrainian side attempted sabotage by hanging flags and shouting insulting calls, informs RIA News. She noted that the task of the Russian delegation is not to politicize the process, as Ukraine did, but to express its opinion at the meeting.
PABSEC is an inter-parliamentary organization, a body of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization, established in 1993. 13 countries take part in the assembly. It is designed to promote parliamentary methods of economic and humanitarian cooperation between member states. The PABSEC residence is located in Istanbul.
