In 2023, the share of the use of domestic seedlings in Russian horticulture will increase to 80%. Last year, this figure was at the level of 74%, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
The department added that the share of intensive gardens in the total area of garden plantings will increase to 62%. Last year, this figure was at the level of 59%, writes May 5 RIA News.
Now spring field work is being carried out in domestic horticulture and nurseries. Workers process trees and shrubs from pests and diseases, make the necessary fertilizers.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation expects that this year the harvest of fruit and berry products will be at the level of 1.7 million tons. By 2030, the figure will be 2.2 million tons.
The Government of the Russian Federation has prepared a draft resolution on subsidies for farms for planting pome and stone fruit intensive orchards. The benefit can be used by farmers using Russian seedlings.
In addition, it is planned to finance the laying of new nurseries with the subsequent establishment of target indicators. These measures are expected to support the industry.
