The decision of the British authorities to transfer long-range Storm Shadow missiles to Ukrainian colleagues will lead to an escalation of the conflict in the zone of the special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on May 12.

“We regard this decision as another extremely hostile step by London, aimed at further pumping up Ukraine with weapons,” reported in a public statement.

Russian diplomats noted that all responsibility for the consequences of Britain’s destructive policy “lies entirely with the authors and executors of this reckless step.”

“The Russian side reserves the right to take all necessary measures to neutralize the threats that may arise as a result of the use of British cruise missiles by Ukraine,” representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

London’s transfer of the Storm Shadow complex to Kyiv clearly proves the unprecedented scale of the UK’s involvement in the armed conflict in Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. London is demonstrating its readiness to take the confrontation in the NVO zone to a fundamentally different level, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted.

Former British Defense Minister confirmed the transfer Kyiv long-range missiles Storm Shadow. The British Defense Secretary described the decision as “a measured and proportionate response from Russia.”

In turn, the press secretary of the Russian president said that Russia is ready to the fact that the West will continue to send weapons to Ukraine.
