The Russian Interior Ministry plans to complete the process of issuing passports to residents of the new Russian regions Thursday by September 1. We are talking about the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

“We recognize everyone as citizens of the Russian Federation from September 30, but after taking the oath,” she said. It was on September 30, 2022 that Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions signed agreements on the accession of these regions to Russia.

The head of the migration department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation noted that a significant number of people have not yet received passports. “Today, we accept about 15,000 (persons. – Profile) a day (for issuing passports. – Profile),” she said, adding that no one has yet refused the oath.

In March, the head of state demanded that the Russian Interior Ministry quickly to clean up with the issuance of Russian passports in new regions of the country, so that people do not stand in lines for months. He expects that the employees of the department will take this task responsibly.
