The Polish diplomat was handed a note of protest over the events of May 9 at the cemetery-mausoleum of Soviet soldiers in Warsaw. Then the gathered crowd prevented the Russian ambassador in the republic and other Russian diplomats from laying wreaths.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that with the deliberate inaction of the Polish authorities, the traditional wreath-laying ceremony was disrupted. They called these events the next link in the chain of provocative steps taken by Warsaw. About it reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The Polish diplomat was told that “the unbridled anti-Russian bacchanalia unleashed by Warsaw” went beyond the principles of communication between neighboring states.

Employees of the Russian embassy arrived on May 9 at the memorial cemetery to honor the memory of those who died for the liberation of Poland from fascism. The crowd surrounded them, there were demands that the ambassador take off the St. George ribbon. The diplomats were pushed back to the cars in which they arrived. As a result, the ambassador and his companions had to leave.
