Large-scale privatization will have to take place in Russia, but at the same time, a market must be formed for this. This opinion is shared by the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Alexei Moiseev. He made this statement at the XI St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

Moiseev pointed out that the media raised the question of whether large-scale privatization should be resumed. He, in particular, recalled the article by the President – Chairman of the Board of VTB Andrey Kostin, where he proposed to return to this issue. She came out in April.

“In fact, no one is against it, the problem is that we first need to fulfill a number of instructions from the president on the formation of an internal investor,” the deputy head of the Ministry of Finance said. His words on Thursday, May 11, leads RIA News.

He noted that you need to understand who to sell to. “If you sell now, it will be like the history of ’94,” Moiseev added.

Privatization is the process of transferring ownership of enterprises or property from the state to private legal entities or individuals. In Russia, privatization was carried out in the 1990s.
