The German government is preparing a new €2.7 billion military aid package for Ukraine. It will include 30 Leopard 1A5 tanks, 20 additional Marder infantry fighting vehicles and 200 reconnaissance drones. This was reported in the Ministry of Defense of Germany.

The aid package also includes 18 howitzers, 100 armored vehicles, four IRIS-T air defense systems, logistics vehicles and ammunition. About this on Saturday, May 13, writes TASS.

Earlier, the media wrote that the German authorities agreed to provide Kyiv additional weapons worth €2.7 billion. This will be the largest military aid package from Berlin. The media also reported that the German authorities plan to order 18 Leopard 2 tanks to replace those sent to Ukraine with the possibility of acquiring another 105 tanks worth about € 2.9 billion. In March, the defense department announced that 18 A6 type Leopard 2 tanks had arrived in Ukraine.
