Acting Minister of the Interior of the LPR Igor Kornet, who was injured in an explosion in the center of Luhansk, underwent a difficult operation. Now his condition is assessed as stable.

This statement was made by a former adviser to Kornet, a military expert from the LPR, Colonel Vitaly Kiselev. About this on Monday, May 15, writes TASS. At the same time, he noted that some more time is needed to accurately judge the condition of the victim.

“Doctors of the Lugansk Republican Clinical Hospital perform feats every day, and the fact that Igor was saved speaks volumes… He will live,” Kiselev said.

The explosion occurred in the barbershop, which is located 500 meters from the Government House and the building of the People’s Council. An ambulance, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the necessary specialized departments arrived at the scene.

According to the acting head of the LPR, at least seven people were injured as a result of the incident. They were taken to medical institutions of the republic. Among them was Cornet.

On the fact of what happened opened a criminal case on several articles. These include attempted murder, illegal acquisition of explosives or explosive devices, and attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer.
