The imposition of martial law in Pakistan is currently not discussed. This was stated by the head of the Interdepartmental Directorate for Public Relations of the Ministry of Defense of the country (ISPR), Major General Ahmed Sharif. His statement is quoted by the Doon newspaper.

“There can be no question of any military situation,” he stressed.

Sharif also called false reports that a number of resignations were made in the army due to the events taking place in the country. He noted that the armed forces were and remain “unified under the leadership of the commander in chief.” None of the military violated a single order, he added.
