The Sudanese Army (SAF) violated the ceasefire. A return to negotiations is possible only after the leadership of this structure returns to fulfilling the terms of the truce. This was stated by the head of the Sudan Rapid Response Force (RSF), Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, writes TASS.

“Stop the violence. After that, we can negotiate. <...> We don’t want to destroy Sudan,” Dagalo said in a statement.

Dagalo claims that army units continue to strike RSF positions. He also added that he is in favor of the formation of a fully civil legal society. The head of the RSF accused the other side of allegedly being influenced by the ideas of radical Islamists.

The Sudanese army blames the RSF for violating the truce. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic said that members of the RSF attacked hospitals.

The armed confrontation between the RSF and the SAF began on April 15, 2023. Both sides blame each other for the attack. At least 600 people became victims of the conflict. From midnight on 24 April, the RSF and SAF agreed to a 72-hour truce. April 27 the truce has been extended.
