The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Alexander Kurenkov flew to Kurgan. The minister will arrive in the region in connection with the complicated situation with forest fires, writes RIA News.
Together with the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, employees of the central apparatus of this structure also flew out of Moscow. Already in place, they expect to develop a strategy that will help in the elimination of fires in the region.
“Natural fires from forests and dry grass have spread to several settlements in the Urals. A difficult situation has developed. We fly to the Kurgan region to assess the situation on the spot, concentrate the necessary forces, taking into account all the risks and factors, in order to quickly cope with a difficult situation “, – the agency quotes the explanation of the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov.
On the evening of Sunday, May 7, the head of the Kurgan region introduced emergency mode. He considered the situation in the region critical. According to the governor, it is not yet possible to use aviation to extinguish fires – this is hindered by heavy winds.
