The Cabinet of Ministers of Russia is completing work on a draft federal law that will determine the conditions for the entry, exit and stay of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation. The government is also finishing developing an action plan to implement the concept of state migration policy for 2023-2025, which was approved by the head of state.
The Cabinet noted that the government continues to improve migration policy. New approaches in this area have been identified. They take into account the changed foreign policy, economic and social conditions, as well as emerging risks and challenges. Formerly the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia proposed to abolish state control in the field of migration and introduce administrative supervision over the stay of foreigners in the Russian Federation. This will ensure migration security, according to the department.
