An aerial bomb found in a residential area of Belgorod was destroyed at the test site, Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his telegram channel.
He also posted video footage of the projectile being destroyed.
An aerial bomb was found on Shalandina Street in Belgorod on April 22.
It was about the FAB-500 aviation ammunition.
The place where the projectile was found turned out to be located near a residential area. In this regard, it was decided to evacuate the inhabitants of 17 houses, or a total of over 3 thousand people, Gladkov reported.
The governor specified that the specialists of the Ministry of Defense decided to neutralize the projectile at the training ground.
A few hours later, the ammunition was taken out of the city, and residents began to return home, he noted.
After the discovery of the air bomb, the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations declared a state of emergency at the regional level.
On the evening of April 20, an explosion occurred in Belgorod in a residential area, as a result of which a funnel with a radius of 20 meters was formed.
Three people were injured, a residential building and several cars were damaged.
The cause of the incident was an “abnormal descent of ammunition” from the Su-34 aircraft, the Defense Ministry said. They added that the incident is being investigated.
