The balloon, which was seen in the sky over the US state of Hawaii, did not pose a threat to the United States. This was announced by the Pentagon.

According to the Pentagon, the balloon was spotted in the sky at an altitude of about 11 km over the coast of Hawaii on April 28. It did not fly over critical defense infrastructure or other classified sites.
