In Newark (USA), a mixed martial arts tournament UFC 288 was held. In the main fight, the title holder in the bantamweight (up to 61 kg) American Aljamain Sterling defended against the former champion of the organization in two weight categories, compatriot Henry Cejudo.

The American fighter Sterling defeated his compatriot and for the third time defended the champion title of the Absolute Fighting Championship in the lightest weight category. The fight lasted all five rounds. Sterling won by split decision. About this on Sunday, May 7, writes RIA News.

Aljamain Sterling is 33 years old. In the last fight in October 2020 at UFC 280, the American defeated compatriot TJ Dillashaw by technical knockout in the second round. Sterling’s record is 23 wins and three losses. He has been performing professionally since 2011. According to rating UFC, Sterling is ranked 6th in the non-categories table.

Henry Cejudo is 36 years old. In May 2020, he announced his retirement. Then at UFC 249, he stopped promotion legend Dominic Cruz ahead of schedule. Since then, the fighter has not held a single fight. Cejudo has 16 wins and three losses.
