Kyiv continues to deliberately escalate the situation around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, it is possible that this is happening on the eve of the intensification of hostilities. This opinion was expressed on Sunday, April 30, by the head of Rosatom Alexei Likhachev.
In the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on the TV channel “Russia 1“He explained that the injection is manifested, among other things, in pressure on the station personnel. According to Likhachev, he has a “premonition of a possible intensification of hostilities” in the Zaporozhye direction.
Earlier, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that military operations in the area of the Zaporizhzhya NPP continue. He believes that the increased activity in the region again underlines the need to reach agreements to protect the station. The IAEA Director General also added that saw “military preparations” in the area of the ZNPP.
Zaporozhye NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. It is located in Energodar. Since the end of February 2022, ZNPP has been controlled by Russian forces.
