Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected in the Crimea in the second half of April 30, as well as in the morning of May 1. In addition, a rise in the level of rivers is predicted, warned in the republican Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“Storm warning: in the afternoon of April 30, at night and in the morning of May 1, rains are expected in Crimea, very strong in some places, thunderstorms, an increase in the northwest wind to 15-20 m / s,” the ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that in a storm there is a high probability of emergency situations, accidents at energy facilities, an increase in the number of accidents, and violations of transport communication. Flooding areas are possible.
There is also a possibility of accidents in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas, the Kerch Strait. Being in the coastal zone, on shore protection structures and piers is life-threatening.
A possible rise in the level of rivers is predicted in the northern foothills and on the southern coast of the peninsula. The indicator can grow by 0.5–1.5 m without reaching dangerous levels, the Ministry of Emergency Situations specified.
