Spring is the time for fragrant and delicious kebabs. We suggest cooking this dish of pork marinated in onions with lemon. The meat is soft and juicy.
Required Ingredients:
- pork – 4 kg;
- onion – 1 kg;
- lemon – 1 pc;
- salt – to taste;
- dry spices – to taste.
How to cook pork kebab marinated with lemon and onion:
- Prepare the required amount of ingredients. Pork is better to choose without bones. A ham or neck will do. Lemon and onion are recommended in medium sizes. One lemon will be enough. If you take more, then the kebab will turn out sour.
- Peel the onion from the husk. Wash the lemon under running water.
- Cut pork into medium pieces. They should not turn out very large, otherwise the kebab will be raw inside.
- Cut the peeled onion into thin half rings. It is recommended to crush the chopped onion with your hands so that it starts to let the juice out faster.
- In a bowl of a suitable size, combine pork and onion. Squeeze lemon juice with your hands. Add spices to taste. It can be a ready-made barbecue kit or ground black pepper.
- Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Cover with a lid or cling film. Put the pork to marinate for several hours in the refrigerator. While marinating pork, it is recommended to mix the contents of the bowl a couple of times. An hour before cooking, add salt to taste to the meat.
- Thread the kebab onto skewers and fry the meat until cooked through, turning the skewers from time to time. You can check the readiness by making an incision on one of the pieces. If clear juice comes out, then the meat is ready. The frying time depends on the brazier, the amount of coals and the heat.
- Ready pork skewers with lemon and onions can be served at the table, best with fresh vegetables or salad. In addition, you can cook your favorite sauce.
Another delicious recipe – chicken heart skewers. You don’t need a brazier: after a light sour cream marinade, you can cook hearts on skewers in a conventional oven.
