Russian President Vladimir Putin met in the Kremlin with the head of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov. He arrived in Moscow on an official visit.

According to published information on the Kremlin website, on the agenda is the current state of relations between the two countries, as well as prospects for the development of cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

In addition, the politicians discussed issues of further strengthening Russian-Kyrgyz relations, alliance and strategic partnership, regional and international issues, interaction within the framework of integration associations.

According to Putin, relations between the two countries are now on the rise. He expressed confidence that this trend will gain momentum. “Our trade turnover increased by 37% last year. Russia is the largest investor – we are in first place in terms of direct capital investments,” the head of the Russian Federation noted.

In addition, Putin called the fact that representatives of Kyrgyzstan arrived in Moscow on the eve of Victory Day a landmark event.

On the eve of Zhaparov held a meeting in Moscow with the Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. During the event, the President of Kyrgyzstan noted the importance of building up trade and economic ties with the Russian side. He added that last year the foreign trade turnover of the two countries exceeded $3 billion. This is a record figure.
