Russian leader Vladimir Putin conferred the honorary title “Guards” on the 50th Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment. The name was given for mass heroism and courage, fortitude and courage shown by the personnel of the regiment in combat operations.

The head of state signed a corresponding decree. He placed on the official online portal of legal information on Wednesday, May 17. The document comes into force from the date of its signing.

The 50th Guards Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment is a tactical formation of the Russian Ground Forces. It is deployed in the city of Shali of the Chechen Republic. It is part of the 42nd Guards Motor Rifle Division.
