Extinguishing forest fires in the Tyumen region

One person died while extinguishing a natural fire near the village of Krasny Yar in the Nizhnetavdinsky district of the Tyumen region on the night of Monday, May 8. This is a 49-year-old local resident.
Two more people were injured. One of them was hospitalized, the head of the Nizhnetavdinsky district, Valery Borisov, said at a meeting of the regional headquarters for combating wildfires.
As stated in Telegramchannel of the information center of the government of the Tyumen region, the fire near the village of Krasny Yar is localized. During the day, five forest fires were extinguished in the region on a total area of 33.6 hectares. At the same time, eight new forest fires broke out in the Tyumen region during the day on May 7. Now there are a total of 12 such fires in the region, their total area is about 1179 hectares.
Also during the day, 70 new landscape fires appeared on an area of more than 5300 hectares. Most of them were extinguished, but 12 continue to operate.
The governor of the Tyumen region introduced the state of emergency throughout the region on May 7. He noted that a tense situation has been developing in the region in recent days. Every day there are new landscape fires. All this is exacerbated by hot and dry weather and strong gusts of wind.
