The All-Russian action “Night of Museums – 2023” was held in Naryan-Mar.
It took place in the Nenets Museum of Local Lore and the House of Shevelevs (Museum-Reserve “Pustozersk”). Also, the Center for Arts and Crafts and the Workshop of Folk Crafts “Mel” manzaran” of the Ethnocultural Center of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug joined the action.
The venues of the Night of Museums were dedicated to the Year of the Teacher and Mentor, announced in Russia, the anniversary of the Pechora storyteller Maremyana Golubkova and the Pechora folklore, culture and life of the inhabitants of the Lower Pechora region in the first half of the last century.

– It’s a big holiday for us. This is an opportunity to draw attention to the activities of the museum in its various forms. In addition to classical excursions, we have here master classes of various types, activities, even dances. We are building more relationships with the local community here. This allows us to go beyond museum expositions, to imagine and tell more about what museums do today, that they are able to influence people’s lives, change it for the better. The task of the Night of Museums is to attract, tell, interest, get new friends, – said Elena Menshakova, director of the Museum Association of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
Guests of the cultural night learned crafts, dance in the Lower Pechora style, write with a goose pen, visited new exhibitions, and participated in quizzes. In the halls of the Nenets Museum of Local Lore, classical music played, kind and beloved songs sounded, transforming the usual exposition spaces.

– Every year we participate in the Night of Museums. Let’s wait and get ready. Since this is the Year of the Teacher and Mentor, our program includes songs about teachers and the school. Also, this time we decided to make a small interactive – they gave the listeners the words of the songs so that they could sing them with us. It worked out well. All received a charge of emotions. Such activities must be carried out. I see the interest that the residents of Naryan-Mar arouse, and in different age categories. Everyone here finds a location, a highlight to their liking. It is interesting for everyone, – said Irina Pudovkina, director of the Children’s Art School of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
