The head of the region, Yuri Bezdudny, held a working meeting with Konstantin Shadrin, who is developing the direction of unmanned aerial systems in the T1 holding. The parties discussed the readiness to launch a project on the territory of the district for the delivery of goods to remote settlements by unmanned aerial vehicles. NAO has become a pilot site for testing modern technologies.
— We are taking a step towards the Arctic, towards Naryan-Mar. And this means that in the near future we will move from meetings and theoretical research to the practical plane. Let’s try to launch the very miracle that you are doing now. And not just to launch, but to try the practical aspects of a drone that will help people living in the Arctic zone not just live, but live well. At the first stage, we will try to deliver goods, and then we will think about how to deliver people, how to make an unmanned aerial vehicle also such a minibus to settlements,” said the Governor of the NAO, Yuri Bezdudny.
The day before, a meeting was held at the Administration of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, which was attended by all parties interested in the project to launch unmanned delivery of goods to remote settlements of the region – representatives of the authorities, the technology company Ecolibri JSC and the T1 group. All participants expressed their absolute readiness to assist in the implementation of the project, which is of great importance for the development of the entire Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. It should be noted that at the end of April, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting on the development of unmanned aircraft. The head of state reminded the meeting participants of the instruction to the Government to develop and launch a national project for the development of unmanned aircraft, unmanned aerial systems.
— Nenets Autonomous Okrug is indeed a unique region for launching a project. We have sites that allow us to test unmanned vehicles, and we need to deliver goods. This is not even the Russian Post, these are ordinary medicines that we deliver to remote settlements. Now is just such a season when we are standing on the eve of floods, the water will rise soon, it will be very difficult to get to settlements. This is a period when we would really need drones to deliver medicines to FAPs,” said Yuri Bezdudny.
It is planned to launch the first drones in test mode in the near future.
– We are trying to move in the same logic that we outlined last year, indeed, the relevance of the topic of using drones has only increased. We hope that the activity that we have initiated will soon be presented as the first experience of operating unmanned aerial systems in the district. I think that we will also try to fulfill the monitoring tasks with which everyone starts, but we also want to start testing those unmanned vessels that are designed to deliver goods,” said Konstantin Shadrin.
