Lionel Messi has apologized to Paris Saint-Germain Football Club (PSG) and teammates after being suspended for a trip to Saudi Arabia – the Argentine missed training informs Reuters.

“I sincerely believed that I would have a day off after the game, as I had in previous weeks. I organized this trip and could not cancel it,” Messi said.

He also added that he apologizes to his teammates and will wait for a decision on further action from the club’s management.

Messi flew to Saudi Arabia as the country’s tourism ambassador. He had to do it under contractual obligations. However, the Argentine did not coordinate the trip with the head coach of the club and did not come to the scheduled training session.

As a result, on May 2, the leadership of PSG Suspended Lionel Messi from matches for two weeks. The reason was the unauthorized trip of the Argentine striker to Saudi Arabia. At the same time, PSG coach Christophe Galtier indicated that he had nothing to do with the club’s decision to remove Messi.

According to Reuters, Messi has already received an official offer to join Saudi club Al-Hilal next season. Earlier it was reported that the leadership of this FC offered the Argentine contract for €400 million per year.
