The head of the Federation Council of Russia, Valentina Matvienko, said that she did not intend to run for the presidency of the Russian Federation in 2024.
“No. I have no such plans and never had,” smiling, answered speaker of the upper house of parliament to a question asked by a RIA Novosti journalist.
The next presidential elections are scheduled for March 17, 2024. The Federation Council sets the voting date no earlier than 100 days and no later than 90 days before the scheduled date.
At the appointed time, polling stations will open in all subjects of the Russian Federation and abroad. Their work will continue from 08:00 to 20:00. The first sites begin work in Kamchatka and Sakhalin, and the last ones are closed in the Kaliningrad region.
A citizen receives a paper ballot upon presentation of a passport or equivalent document. It is assumed that remote electronic voting (DEV) will be available in a number of regions.
In order for the presidential elections in Russia to be recognized as valid, at least half of the registered voters must take part in them.
