French President Emmanuel Macron on April 30 held a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he reaffirmed Paris’s commitment to provide Kyiv with all necessary assistance, AFP reports.
According to media reports, during the talks, Macron informed Zelensky about the work of European countries in providing military assistance to Kyiv. According to the French leader, the Elysee Palace helps to “defend the sovereignty” of Ukraine, writes TASS.
Prior to this, the leaders of the two countries spoke on April 15. The topic of the talks was Macron’s visit to China, which took place in early April.
The media noted that the French president wants to turn to the Chinese authorities with a plan that could lead to negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Macron stressed that he did not want expansion of the conflictwhile supporting the side of Kyiv.
