London may increase the production of 155 mm ammunition against the background of the conflict in Ukraine and the transfer of part of the British stocks to Kyiv. At the same time, London has not yet made a decision on the possible supply of new batches to Ukraine. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Great Britain Annabelle Goldie.
“No decisions have been made on the issue of allocating any part of the increased production to Ukraine,” Goldie said. Her words on Friday, May 5, are quoted RIA News.
In March, the British Parliament announced dangerous low stock levels arms of the United Kingdom. They worry that rivals could potentially increase their stockpiles of weapons, and London’s inability to replenish its arsenal jeopardizes the sending of military aid to Ukraine and the ability to meet other challenges.
In May, the British Ministry of Defense announced that a small part of the weapons transferred by London to Kyiv was resold and did not reach the front line. However, cases of resale are extremely rare, the department noted.
