The American television channel CBS simulated the fall of the MQ-9 Reaper drone in the Black Sea.
An approximate scenario of the fall was shown on the air of the channel.
The footage shows two objects flying over the sea – a Russian fighter jet and an American drone.
At one point, the plane descends closer to the water, after which it flies up again.
At the same time, after a fighter maneuver, the MQ-9 Reaper rolls over and falls.
The fact that a Russian fighter met with a US drone over the Black Sea became known on Tuesday, March 14.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the fall of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) MQ-9.
The agency said that the drone flew with transponders turned off and went beyond the borders in the Crimean region.
The UAV was moving in the direction of the Russian state border.
According to Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder, Russia has not yet recovered the wreckage of the drone.
In addition, he confirmed that the US MQ-9 drone intercepted over the Black Sea was on a reconnaissance mission.
Later it also became known that the United States intends to continue flying over the Black Sea, despite the air incident with a Russian fighter jet and an American MQ-9 UAV.
