The authorities of the Oryol region decided not to hold the traditional parade on May 9th. Fireworks and a previously planned evening concert were also cancelled. These measures are introduced due to security requirements. The governor of the region Andrey Klychkov spoke about the corresponding decision, publication posted on his official page “Vkontakte”.

The decision to cancel the parade and fireworks on Victory Day was made by the authorities after consultation with representatives of law enforcement agencies and law enforcement agencies.

“We are forced to abandon the parade on May 9. Schoolchildren, cadets, veterans traditionally participate in the parade, we cannot allow even a minimal risk to their safety,” the head of the region explained.

In addition, the May Day rally will not be held in the Oryol region. The Immortal Regiment action will be held in an interactive format.

The holding of the Victory Parade on May 9 was also canceled by the authorities of the Crimea, Belgorod and Kursk regions. Appropriate decisions were made for security reasons. The Kremlin considered the question holding parades the prerogative of the regional heads.
