From May 5, going out and leaving on the ice provides for administrative punishment: foot violators of the ban will face a fine of 500 to 1,000 rubles, and drivers will face a fine of 500 to 2,000 rubles.
Also, from tomorrow and during the period of the ban, employees of the GIMS Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the NAO will conduct raids on water bodies together with the police and officials of the mayor’s office and the Zapolyarny region.
– We appeal to parents: be sure to talk with your children about safe behavior during the spring flood. Remember, such games as riding on ice, rafting, on unregistered small boats and on logs can lead to tragedy, – explains Vasily Kaiser, Deputy Head of the Territorial Authority (Chief State Inspector for Small Boats of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug) of the EMERCOM of Russia for the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
It should be noted that at the moment the ice thickness does not exceed 80 cm. The head of the ice drift is developing on the territory of the Komi Republic, 900 km from Naryan-Mar. According to the forecasts of the Northern UGMS, ice drift in Naryan-Mar is expected on May 18, on the border of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug – on May 12.
