A high-level meeting on the “grain deal” is scheduled for May 10-11 in Istanbul. This was announced on Tuesday, May 9, by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Vershinin.
“We have scheduled a high-level meeting in a quadripartite format (Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, the UN. – Profile) in Istanbul tomorrow and the day after tomorrow,” he said. Vershinin’s words leads TASS.
The day before, the UN announced about working out the details high-level meeting on the “grain deal”. It is still not known who will represent the organization.
The “grain deal” provides for the export of Ukrainian food and fertilizers from three Black Sea ports, as well as the unblocking of exports of agricultural products and fertilizers from the Russian Federation. In March of this year, the “grain deal” was extended for another 60 days, until May 18. The Russian Federation has repeatedly stated that the conditions of the initiative have not been met in the part that concerns the Russian agricultural sector. Therefore, the issue of extending the deal is now being decided.
