A number of EU states, led by Poland, are secretly calling on Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky to stop the conflict, even at the cost of his own resignation. About it informed on Wednesday, May 17, American journalist, Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh.
“This group is led by Poland […]She is secretly urging Zelensky to find a way to end the conflict – even if that means stepping down,” Hersh wrote.
According to him, the group includes Eastern European countries, in particular, Hungary and the Czech Republic, as well as the Baltic states. However, according to CIA intercepts and other data, Zelensky is refusing such an offer, which is why he is beginning to lose the support of his neighbors, Hersh said.
Earlier, Zelensky admitted that some countries are trying to push him to a compromise with the Russian Federation, but he is not going to succumb to such pressure. The president of Ukraine did not specify which states he was talking about, but later the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that some politicians in Africa, Asia and the Middle East were calling on Kiev to stop resistance. However, such proposals the Foreign Ministry called unrealistic.
