Germany announced the possible start of a new migration crisis on the borders of the EU
The German police announced that its structures are recording a new wave of refugees from the Middle East. Migrants are allegedly trying to enter the territory of the European Union through Russia and Belarus. This is stated in the closed report of the German police Migrationanalyse, which got employees of the Bild newspaper.
The document is marked “secret information – for official use only” (Verschlusssache – nur für den Dienstgebrauch). It follows from it that in March alone, 22.5 thousand migrants were stopped at the EU border – 60% more than in the corresponding period of 2022.
The Bild material claims that according to the report, migrants receive Russian visas, then fly to the Russian Federation or Belarus, cross borders and enter the European Union. Then most of them tend to get to Germany. The route through the Russian Federation and Belarus is allegedly actively advertised in social networks.
The German police report also said that most of the migrants come from Turkey, where there are now about 4 million refugees from the Middle East. Germany expects the number of illegal migrants at the border to increase in the coming weeks.
A similar situation with refugees arose in 2021 on the borders of Belarus with Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. British Foreign Office at the time accused Russia involved in this migration crisis.
