The Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) filed a lawsuit against the German concern Volkswagen for the third time since mid-March. The documents were received by the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the amount of claims under the statement of claim, as in the case of the first claim, is about 15.6 billion rubles.
This is evidenced by the data of the file of arbitration cases. No other details were given in the case. writes Interfax. In the first lawsuit, GAZ asks to recover from the German company the damage caused in connection with the termination of the contract for the assembly of cars in Nizhny Novgorod. In the second lawsuit, the Russian plant demands compensation for lost profits (28.4 billion rubles).
At the end of March, Kommersant reported that court arrested all assets of Volkswagen under the lawsuit of GAZ. In March 2022, the Volkswagen Group Rus company suspended the production of cars at enterprises in Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod. German media reported that the concern is looking for a buyer for its assets.
