The FSB of Russia managed to detain a 25-year-old Ukrainian citizen who collected data on the Russian Armed Forces. This was announced on Tuesday, May 16, at the Center for Public Relations (CSP) of the FSB.
“In the course of the operational-search activities, the espionage activities of a citizen of Ukraine were revealed and suppressed. On the instructions of foreign special services, the suspect transmitted information regarding objects, military equipment, fortifications and combat positions of the RF Armed Forces,” the message says. bringt TASS.
The detainee was seized technical means, in which they found information revealing the activities and deployment of the group of Russian troops “Vostok”. This grouping participated in a special operation in the Kyiv region of Ukraine. It is noted that the transfer of such information to representatives of another country was used against the security of Russia.
The FSB Investigation Department opened a case under Art. 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Espionage”). It provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment from 10 to 20 years. The suspect is currently in custody.
