Washington is interested in maintaining the work of its embassy in Moscow, despite the fact that relations between the Russian Federation and the United States are at an extremely low level. This was announced on Saturday, April 29 RIA News Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin.
“We have a lot of problems in bilateral contacts. In fact, we don’t have any. Our relations are at an extremely low, if not zero, level,” the diplomat said.
According to Vershinin, now the US and Russia are exchanging “concerns” and considering “problems in bilateral relations at the expert level.” Nevertheless, the Americans want to keep their embassy in Moscow, the deputy foreign minister stressed.
The diplomat added that Russia is working with the United States on the basis of the principle of full reciprocity. Thus, if the White House takes some unfriendly actions against Moscow, then a similar reaction follows from the Russian side.
Former President of Russia stated the existence deep crisis in relations between Moscow and Washington. According to the head of state, it is based on fundamentally different approaches to the formation of the modern world order. The President stressed that Moscow is striving to build relations with Washington on the principles of equality and respect.
