By the beginning of June, Florida Governor Ronald Dion DeSantis is going to officially declare his intention to take part in the next presidential election in the United States. About it informs The Washington Post (WP), citing sources close to the governor.
WP interlocutors indicated that in the coming weeks the politician plans to hold a series of meetings with major sponsors. These actions will help DeSantis not only form its own campaign staff, but also build personal relationships with potential donors.
DeSantis, according to WP, is currently supported by about 31% of Republicans. However, 46% of adherents of the Republican Party would rather vote for the 45th US President Donald Trump in the upcoming elections in 2024.
At the moment, it is also known that former South Carolina governor, former Arkansas governor, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and conservative talk show host Larry Elder will take part in the presidential race from the Republicans. The ex-president of the United States also put forward his candidacy – and he will be able to do this, even being in jail.
