Turkey was able to hold parliamentary and presidential elections on May 14 in a calm atmosphere, despite the preparations for “numerous provocations.” This was stated by Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan in an address to the deputies of the ruling party.
“Before the elections, numerous provocations were prepared by those who are known and unknown to the public. Thanks to the hard work of our security forces and special services, none of them achieved their goal,” the head of state said. He noted that the elections in Turkey were calm and safe. The words of the politician on Wednesday, May 17, quotes RIA News.
In the presidential elections in Turkey, none of the three candidates managed to gain more than 50% of the vote. Second round of elections will be held May 28.
