Moscow State University (MGU) has transferred several faculties to distance learning due to the measles outbreak. The order is valid until May 17. Relevant information with the text of the order signed by the rector of the university leads RIA News.
Previously, students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics were also notified of the quarantine. Measles was detected in one of the students who studied in the second academic building.
On April 25, it became known that one of the buildings of the Moscow Russian Technological University got measles. The leadership of the university also transferred the entire corps to distance learning.
Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor explained the increase in the incidence of measles, which has been recorded in Russia since the end of last year. They noted that about 10% of all registered cases accounted for by migrants.
Measles immunization coverage exceeds 95% on average across the country, so experts rule out an epidemic. In some regions, however, the level of immunization does not reach the target values, and this is one of the reasons for the aggravation of the situation.
