From ready-made puff yeast-free dough, you can quickly prepare delicious puffs with cottage cheese, cheese and herbs. The recipe is convenient because almost any greens are suitable for it, both fresh and, for example, thawed or canned spinach, sorrel. The proportions of cheese, greens and cottage cheese can be varied. It will take about 30 minutes to make puffs. The main thing is to defrost the dough and greens in advance. And before you mix the ingredients, turn on the oven so that it warms up. This will help save time.
Ingredients:
- puff yeast-free dough – 500 g;
- hard or semi-hard cheese – 50 g;
- medium-fat cottage cheese – 100 g;
- egg yolk for lubricating the dough – 1 pc.;
- fresh herbs (cilantro, parsley, dill, onion, and so on) – a bunch of about 20 g or about 30 g of thawed spinach, sorrel;
- salt, ground black pepper – to taste.
How to cook puffs with cottage cheese, cheese and herbs:
- Cheese grate on a coarse grater.
- Rinse greens, dry and finely chop. If using thawed spinach, drain excess moisture first.
- Mix greens with cheese and cottage cheese, salt and pepper if necessary.
- Roll out the dough into a sheet measuring about 25 x 35 cm.
- Cut out squares from the dough, make slits on the sides. Put the filling in the middle of each square and fold the edges of the puffs with an overlapping envelope.
- Brush the top of the puffs with egg yolk.
- Bake them in an oven preheated to 190-195°C for 15-20 minutes. Everything, crispy puffs with cottage cheese, cheese and herbs are ready!
