The visa departments of the German Consulates General in the Russian regions will stop accepting visa applications from June 2023. This was reported on Wednesday, May 10, in the press service of the diplomatic mission.
We are talking about visa departments in Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. According to messageall visa applications will only be processed at the German Embassy in Moscow.
At the same time, VisaMetric visa centers will continue to work in the regions. But, as indicated in the press service, the processing time for applications may increase due to the postal transfer of documents from region to region.
The website of the diplomatic mission also warned that due to increased demand from June 2023, the appointment for the submission of documents will change. It will not be possible to book an appointment directly with the Visa Section or the VisaMetric Visa Application Centre. “You will need to put yourself on a waiting list through the embassy’s booking system,” the message said. In addition, appointments for Schengen visa applications in Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk will continue to be available through the VisaMetric service partner.
