Car brand Zeekr, owned by Geely Motors, announced the start of mass production of a new modification of the already well-known Zeekr 001 liftback in the WE modification, which is capable of driving more than 1000 km on a single battery charge. The main difference between the new modification and the already well-known electric vehicles, including in Russia, is in the battery pack manufactured by CATL Corporation.
The new generation 140kWh CATL Qilin 3.0 Lithium Battery features a packaging technology that Chinese engineers have been able to increase capacity by 13% compared to competitors at a comparable volume, informs May 16 CarNewsChina portal. In this case, the volume utilization efficiency reaches 72% at an energy density of up to 255 Wh/kg. Such battery packs can be charged from 10% to 80% in 10 minutes, however, only at powerful charging stations.
The exact value of the tested maximum possible mileage that Zeekr claims for version 001 WE is 1032 km.
The electric Zeekr 001 was first introduced in China in 2021. This is a five-door liftback with dimensions of 4970 x 1999 x 1560 mm, while the wheelbase is 3005 mm long.
The new batteries will be installed on all-wheel drive modifications of the electric vehicle, equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of 544 hp. s., maximum torque – 686 Nm.
Outwardly, the most “long-range” version can be distinguished solely by the new body colors: orange, blue and black options have been added to the palette for 2023
Profile.ru previously reported that Geely preparing to go into mass production charger for electric vehicles, which can significantly reduce the time of replenishment of the energy supply and increase the range: the charging complex with a capacity of 600 kW will charge the battery in 5 minutes, which is enough to drive 300 km.
