The US Secretary of State expressed hope that he would visit Beijing this year. He also considers it important that Washington and Beijing restore lines of communication at all levels.
“Yes,” Blinken told reporters when asked if he expected to travel to China in 2023. About this on Wednesday, May 3, writes TASS.
Blinken was due to visit China on February 5-6. He put it aside amid the balloon incident.
In early February, US authorities spotted a Chinese balloon over the land part of the country. He was shot down, explaining this decision by the fact that the ball was used for espionage. China called it an overreaction.
