The head of the United States, Joe Biden, said that he was thinking about the possibility of preventing a potential default in the country on federal debt without the participation of Congress.
“I am considering the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution,” the president explained, answering a press question about possible ways out and the current situation.
The fourth section of this amendment, as some experts believe, may provide an opportunity to solve the problem with public debt bypassing Congress. The House of Representatives is controlled by Republicans who want to raise the ceiling on their own terms, TASS reports on May 10.
