Russian corporations, when fulfilling the state defense order, allow facts of corruption, Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation, said on May 13 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
“A lot of fraudulent schemes are being implemented even in the defense industry. In this difficult time for the country, while fulfilling the defense order, our corporations allow facts of corruption and theft,” – quotes Bastrykin RIA Novosti.
At the same time, the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation did not specify which corporations he was talking about.
The state defense order is a procurement to ensure the defense and security of Russia, as well as the supply of products within the framework of the military-technical cooperation of the Russian Federation with other states.
In early April, the President of Russia signed a law on improving the effectiveness of supervision over the implementation of legislation on state defense orders, as well as the legality of spending federal budget funds. On the basis of this document, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia received access to the Unified Information System, which contains data on payments for state defense orders.
